PSE certification(J62133 standard) for power bank to register in METI

PSE certification is a mandatory safety certification in Japan to demonstrate that electrical and electronic products comply with the safety requirements of the Japanese Electrical and Material Safety Act (DENAN Law).

The Japan Electrical and Material Safety Act classifies electrical and electronic products into two categories: Class A-Specified Electrical Appliances and Materials, which must be labeled with PSE diamonds; Class B-Non-Specified Electrical Appliances and Materials must be affixed with the PSE circular logo.

PSE certification for power bank, mandatory test on February 1, 2019 with test standard JIS C 8712 (J62133). The power bank supplies using cylindrical cells, 37 mobile power samples and 98 batteries are required. For the bank supplier using square soft-pack batteries, 37 mobile power samples and 108 batteries are required.

1.Notification of business is the Japanese importer's declaration, including manufacturer information, product information and date of signature

2. The approval certificate issued by the Ministry of Economy. And the importer to take the PSE deputy certificate to METI for filing to obtain this approval certificate.

3. A Japanese buyer must register with the Ministry of Economy to Trade and Industry (METI) within one month after purchasing the product. It must be a Japanese trading company registered with the Japanese government to apply for registration with METI.
