EN 55014-1, EN55014-2 for household appliances
Recently, EN 55014-1:2017 EU EMC standard for household appliances was introduced. The products covered household appliances, power tools, and adjustment controllers for semiconductor devices.
In recent years, in order to regulate the EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) of electronic products, countries have introduced electromagnetic compatibility standards for electrical and electronic products.
The International Electromagnetic Commission's (EMC) IEC 60050 definition of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) states that "a device or system can function properly in its electromagnetic compatibility environment and does not constitute an unacceptable electromagnetic disturbance to anything else."
Electrical and electronic products should not cause electromagnetic interference to other equipment or systems, and at the same time withstand and resist electromagnetic interference from other equipment or systems.
The new standard adds and changes the conditions and methods of some tests, such as the new operating conditions of the test-sensing cookware, and integrates the limits into the main body standard. The radiation disturbance test adds a general and special test layout, except AC. The conducted disturbance test of the port can be tested by the current probe test instead of the voltage probe.
United Testing Electrical Testing Laboratory reminds relevant companies to keep abreast of the main contents and updates of the new EU EMC standard EN 55014-1:2017, from product design, raw material procurement, assembly and production, etc., to improve product quality. In particular, it is necessary to rely on the authoritative EMC testing organization to master the EMC testing of products and jointly deal with the technical barriers to export of home appliances.
