New standard EN 60598-1, CE certification for LED light
New standard EN 60598-1,CE certification for LED light
The new EU standard about the CE certification for LED light EN 60598-1:2015 instead of 60598-1:2008.
This version has been technically revised compared to the previous version, which contains some important technical changes.
United testing will provide lighting manufacturing companies with all the services they need to cope with change about CE certification. Important technical changes:
a) New requirements of construction methods for LED light
b) Photo-biology safety requirements are expanded
c) More precise requirements for insulation between different types of circuits d) Other general upgrades and improvements
Major changes to the license in Annex R are required. Annex R provide the key requirements for retesting the product (ie the test/evaluation that the standard upgrade may need)
The main chapters involved are:
1) Cl.4.28: Solid-state controller for thermal sensing controllers. 4.28: Fixing of thermal sensing controllers
2) Cl.10.3: Contact current, protection of conductor current and electrocautery
3) Cl.12.5.2: Temperature rise test under abnormal conditions of the tc+X igniter
4) Cl.3.2.12: Ground mark
5) Cl.3.2.23, 4.24.2: Retinal blue light hazard
6) Cl.3.3.22, Cl.4.31: Inter-circuit insulation
7) Cl.4.32, Cl.10.2: Overvoltage protection device
8) Cl.8.2.1, Annex M: basic insulation touch
