What are the standards for toy CE certification?
Toy CE certification is tested by three standards, EN71-1, EN71-2, and EM71-3.
EN71 is the normative standard for toy products in the EU market. So the toy products entering the European market are technically regulated by the EN71 standard, thereby reducing or avoiding the damage of toys to children.
Is EN71 certification mandatory in the EU market?
The EN71 test is a compulsory certification for the EU market, but the EN71 standard is further divided into 11 standards, such as EN71-1, EN71-2, EN71-3, and so on. Although EN71 is compulsory, but it is not mandatory for EN71-1, -2, -3, etc., as long as one of these three standards is sufficient.
The toy CE certification requires the three standards of EN71-1, -2, and -3. EN71 standard details:
EN71-1: Physical and mechanical properties
EN71-2: Flame retardant
EN71-3: Metastasis of certain elements
EN71-4: Test devices for chemistry and related activities
EN71-5: Chemical toys (except test devices)
EN71-6: Graphical representation of age signs
EN71-7: Requirements of paints
EN71-8: Swing, slide and similar toys for indoor and outdoor home entertainment
EN71-9: General requirements for organic compounds in toys
EN71-10: Sample preparation and extraction of organic compounds
EN71-11: Analytical method for organic compounds
