What is the UL certification process?

1. The applicant submits the company and product information

Written application: you should require UL to test your products in writing.

Company information: provide detailed and accurate name, address, contact person, postal code, telephone number and fax of the following units in both Chinese and English.

(a) the applicant company: the company that filed the product testing application and was responsible for all engineering service expenses

(b). Listing of companies: companies listed in the various product catalogs published by UL

(c) production plants: producers and producers of products.

Product information: product information should be provided in English.

(a). Name of the product: full name of the product is provided.

(b). Product model: specify all product models, varieties or classification Numbers that need to be tested, etc.

(c). Intended use of the product: for example, home, office, factory, coal mine, ship, etc.

(d). List of parts: a detailed list of the components and models (classification Numbers), ratings and manufacturer names that comprise the product.For insulation materials, please provide the name of raw materials, such as GE Polycarbonate and Lexan Type 104.When the parts have been UL certified or approved, please confirm the specific type of the parts and specify their UL file number (e). Electrical performance: for electronic and electrical products.Provide electrical schematic diagram (circuit diagram), electrical performance meter.

(f). Structural drawings: for most products, a structural or explosive diagram of the product, the ingredients table, etc., is required.

(g). Product photographs, instructions for use, safety, etc., or installation instructions, etc.

2. Make decisions based on the product information provided

When product information is complete, the UL engineer according to the data to the following decision: experiments according to the UL standard, testing of engineering cost, time and quantity samples, notify you in writing, and send the formal application form and tracking service agreement to your company.The application form indicates the expense limit, which is the maximum project cost estimated by UL according to the test project. The cost limit cannot be exceeded without your written authorization.
