The European commission noted that LED lamps and similar products sold in Europe must be labeled ce certification labels (in accordance with the low voltage directive 2006/95/ec and emc directive 2004/108/ ec).Recently, the requirement has been changed.The latest low voltage directive (LVD) was released on 29 March 2014 (LVD) by the eu official gazette (LVD). This directive will replace the original low voltage directive 2006/95/ ec.

    The new low voltage directive will take effect in the national legislation of member states on April 19, 2016, and replace the old low voltage directive 2006/95/ec on April 20, 2016. There is no transition period.

    The new directive 2004/35 /eu compared to the original directive 2006/95/ec mainly updated the following contents:

    1. Order to adopt new legislation framework (NFL) (ec) 765/2008 (recognition activities and market supervision) and 768/2008 / ec (universal framework for the sales of the products), has been clear about the manufacturers, authorized representatives, importers and distributors (generally referred to as the economic operators) job requirements;

    2. The definition of "manufacturer", "importer", "distributor" and "authorized representative" shall be added.(for example, conformance marks, labels and product traceability);

    3. For the convenience of consumers, the information exchange between the market supervision bureau and the economic operator, in addition to the communication address, the new directive encourages the economic operators to provide a network address;

    4. It is clear that the conformity assessment is mainly in the responsibility of the manufacturer, and the conformity assessment process requires no public announcement mechanism.

    5. Clearly stipulates that technical documents should include adequate risk analysis and assessment;

    6. Detailed market regulation, the treatment of dangerous electrical products and the post-mortem protection process;

    7. Manufacturers and importers name, registered trade name or registered trade mark and address must appear on the device, when the nature of the device size or does not allow to appear on the packaging or user manual;

    8. The new directive rules when found ce mark, ce conformity declaration manufacturers, technical documents or information is not in conformity with the requirements, manufacturers and importers shall take timely corrective action to correct nonconformities.Otherwise, the relevant member states will take measures to restrict or prohibit the sale of products in the market and ensure that the products sold have been recalled from the market.

    9. Member states need to develop punishment rules applicable to the laws of member states in violation of the directive, including serious violations of criminal penalties.
